Hi, I’m Alex.

I am a student at the University of California, Santa Barbara pursuing a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication, actively looking for roles in marketing or public relations. 

On this website, you’ll find my portfolio, themed “Spring Break without the Plane Ticket”. I’ve had a love of travel and exploration ever since high school, when I went on foreign exchange to Germany for a year. Since then, I’ve made travel a priority, made possible though cheap flights, backpacking hostels, and visiting friends across the globe.

Last year I spent my spring break in the U.K., but this year I’ve decided to stay home. While travel has taught me to appreciate the world, I’ve also learned of the negative impacts travel has on the environment. That’s why I’ve decide to embrace the “staycation”.

This portfolio is dedicate to educating and inspiring people to staycation in Santa Barbara or their own home area. In addition to the environmental benefits, a local trip is cost efficient, supports the local economy, and can help foster a positive mindset in appreciating where you live.
